Message from our Founder, Mary Jane Namola, RN

While the concept of the hidden zipper is not unique, the ZipShirt ministry is.

The ZipShirt ministry was founded in Powhatan, VA in 2013. With support from members of St. John Neumann Catholic Church and other area churches, we have been making a difference in the lives of the children and adults who are afflicted with cancer.   The ministry makes medical access shirts and delivers them to area hospitals and oncology units at no-cost.  The shirts are then given to patients and are worn during infusion therapy.

The ZipShirt ministry is ever growing and the demand for shirts continues to rise, please consider being a Zipshirt partner in this most worthy cause.   I will never forget the day when I saw a young boy who was getting ready to receive infusion therapy but so happy because of his Zipshirt.  He had received a Superman Zipshirt with an attached cape and he was running down the hall at the infusion clinic………acting like he was flying.  He was so full of joy and my heart was so full of pride.  Being a part of the ZipShirt ministry is rewarding, in many ways.

The ministry seeks financial assistance from community-minded individuals and businesses. Without their support we would not be able to provide these special “no-cost” medical access shirts to those in need.

Thank you for your support.
